FAQs

Who provides the training?

The BOC program is administered in seven states by the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) and its utility sponsors including Midwest Energy. It was developed by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council, a non-profit business association of the energy efficiency industry.

What is the time commitment?

Level I certification is taught in seven course segments with 56 hours of instruction. Level II certification is taught in six course segments with 49 hours of instruction. Both levels spread the course work over multiple months (generally one or two days each month), so you have no extended periods away from work. The work is very "hands on"; each level of certification includes multiple projects tied to your facility.

What does it cost?

Tuition costs for 2010 are $1,150 for each level of BOC training. Midwest Energy will reimburse 50 percent of your tuition ($575) upon successful certification at each level.

When do classes begin?

Midwest Energy is co-sponsoring BOC courses in Salina and Wichita with Westar Energy beginning in July, 2010. Contact at Midwest Energy if you want more information or have interest in BOC training.
