Energy Safety
Safety is a prime concern at Midwest Energy. In 1994, our line crews constructed
a high voltage safety trailer to assist in demonstrating electrical
safety. To date, this program has been presented to 20,000 Midwest Energy
customers, as well as others.
This animation shows a 7,200 volt arc being struck on our stick dummy's head. This is but a small part of the entire safety program we currently offer.

Natural
gas safety has always been a major concern for Midwest Energy, Inc.
This energy has several characteristics that make it safe when used
properly, and dangerous when used improperly. Natural gas is colorless,
odorless (until we add an odorant), lighter than air and flammable.
We currently offer safety training programs to schools or other groups
interested in learning about natural gas safety. Brian Dreiling
(pictured) ignites a "natural gas bubble" during one of his
demonstrations.

Electric
Energy Conservation is another area where Midwest Energy likes to share
our expertise. We have several displays which show how electricity is
generated, how to better utilize electricity, and methods of conserving
electricity through the use of high efficient lighting and appliances.
