Thousands of Meters to Have Estimated Readings in Feb.

February 26, 2013

Due to deep snow in many areas, Midwest Energy meter readers have had to estimate an unusually high number of meter readings during the last two weeks of February. The word “estimated” will appear on your bill if your meter was not physically read.If this is the case, the estimate may be over or under your actual usage amount, and this imbalance will self-correct when the next physical reading is done.We apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you have any questions about your account, please call Midwest Energy at 800-222-3121.

A meter remains buried in an alley in Hays after 17 inches of snow fell Feb. 20-21; slow-melting deep snow has prevented readers from accessing thousands of meters.
