Energy Association Honors Volker With Prestigious Award

February 07, 2013

Michael J. Volker, director of Regulatory & Energy Services at Midwest Energy Inc., received the Association of Energy Services Professionals’ (AESP) highest honor, the B.H. Prasad Award, at AESP’s 23rd National Conference last week in Orlando, Fla.

The B. H. Prasad award is named for a former chair of AESP and recognizes a member’s outstanding contribution to AESP.“Michael received the recognition for his volunteer work for AESP, including his service on the Executive and Finance Committees, as well as being Vice Chair of Strategic Initiatives. He also collaborated with numerous utilities and brought an AESP training course on demand-side management to the region.

In addition, Michael was instrumental in helping AESP launch its commission database research tool on energy efficiency rulemakings,” said Meg Matt, AESP president and CEO.“Our commission database is a tremendous tool that allows AESP members to quickly and easily access information on commission rulemakings throughout the U.S. Michael’s work toward instituting this program is just one example of how his leadership has increased AESP’s value for our members. It was an honor to present him with this award and to formally thank him for his service,” Matt added.
